Admit it - job interviews suck.
As much as you're excited to receive a response from your potential employer, nothing cripples you like the thought of going through the painful formalities of scheduling an interview (or two, if they like you enough), filling in forms (RIP trees), doing your homework about the company and its competitors as well as proving yourself that you're the one that they want.
Ah, if only life was like a musical. Here are a few songs we think that would be suitable for all you passive and active jobseekers:
1. Eve - Who’s That Girl
As soon as you step through the glass door, everyone from the receptionist to the tea lady would be exchanging glances with each other wondering who you are and which job role you’re applying for - but they’ll find out soon enough from HR.
2. Jay-Z - Public Service Announcement
This is the part when the interviewer says: “Tell us a little more about yourself - who you are and what have you done thus far?”
3. Fort Minor - Remember the Name
Suitable for when hiring managers ask what you can surrender give to them.
4. Pitbull - Calle Ocho
Hiring manager’s intimidating look giving you the heebie jeebies? Imagine shimmying all that nervousness off with the chorus (I know, you want me, you know I want cha). Also suitable for when you want to show off your rudimentary Spanish.
5. DJ Khaled - All I Do Is Win (feat. Ludacris, Snopp Dogg, Rick Ross & T-Pain)
For when hiring managers ask why should they hire you. Do thoughts of winning pitches and business opportunities excite you? Belt out T-Pain’s chorus (All I do is win, win, win no matter what!).
Okay, so perhaps we won’t be able to sing at interviews anytime soon unless you’re auditioning for The Voice… but it doesn’t hurt to tune in to these track to pump yourself up in search of your next best gig. Good luck!
